After the terrible earthquake that shook Lima Wednesday, 15 August, the Diocese of the Anglican Church is organizing to take the necessary aid to our brothers and sisters in Pisco, Ica and Chincha. The Government plans to combat this disaster in three stages: a) recovery of victims, medical attention and burial; b) housing, food and water for refugees; and c) rebuilding of homes. To this end 3 aid committees are being formed:
1.- Support in the Lima hospitals: Erika Montoya (Diocesan Social Worker) is in charge of this team of volunteers who will who will be going to the hospitals where the most seriously injured victims and their families are being airlifted from the affected area. They need food, clothing, medicines, tents and above all spiritual support.
2.- Integrated support in the city of Ica: Early Saturday morning a team of Volunteers led by Rev’d Jesus Mejia and seminarian Pastor Zevallos e are leaving for the city of Ica with help for the affected persons (food, emergency medical kits, basic medicines, water, tents, nappies (diapers) and coats for those who are sleeping in the streets)
3.- Integrated support in the cities of Pisco and Nazca: Monday the 20th our Vicar General, the Very Rev’d Julio Montoya and the head of our NGO Comunión - Perú, the Rev’d Jaime Siancas, and a team of volunteers from the diocese will leave for these cities with aid for those affected. They need to take food, water, medicine, blankets, coats, nappies (diapers), etc.
We ask all our brothers and sisters to support us in prayer and with donations so that we can take as much aid as possible to these people.
All the communities affected by the earthquake are going through a time of despair and unease because they feel alone, and our desire is to be able to take the aid, spiritual strength and above all pastoring in this time of so much sadness.
Tras el terrible terremoto que sacudió Lima el miércoles 15 de Agosto, la Diócesis de la Iglesia Anglicana se viene organizando para llevar la ayuda necesaria a nuestros hermanos en Pisco, Ica, Chincha. El Gobierno se ha trasado combatir este desastre en tres atapas; a) Fase de Recuperación de víctimas, Atención y entierro b)Albergue , alimento y agua para los damnificados y c) Reconstrucción de viviendas.. Y por supuesto apoyando esta iniciativa la iglesia a formado 3 comisiones de ayuda:
1.- Apoyo en los Hospitales de Lima; Erika Montoya (Asistenta Social de la Diócesis)está a cargo de este equipo de voluntarios quienes irán a los hospitales dónde vienen trayendo a los heridos y familiares. Ellos necesitan alimento, abrigo, medicinas, carpas y sobre todo apoyo y fortaleza espiritual.
2.- Apoyo integral a la ciudad de ICA; El día de mañana a primera hora un equipo de Voluntarios de la Iglesia Anglicana a cargo del Rev. Jesús Mejía y el Voluntario Pastor Zevallos están camino a la ciudad de Ica con ayuda para los damnificados (Alimentos, Botiquin de emergencia, medicinas básicas, Agua,, Carpas, pañales para los bebes y ropa de abrigo para los que duermen en las calles)
3.- Apoyo integral en las ciudades de Pisco y Nazca; El día lunes 20 nuestro Vicario General Muy Rev. Julio Montoya en compañia con el diácono de Comunión - Perú Rev Jaime Siancas y un equipo de voluntarios de la diócesis estarán partiendo a estas ciudades con ayuda para los damnificados. Ellos necesitan llevar (Alimentos, agua, medicamentos,Frazadas, ropa de abrigo,pañales para bebes, etc.)
Rogamos a todos nuestros hermanos nos apoyen en oración y donaciones para poder llevar a estos pueblos la mayor cantidad de ayuda posible.
Todas las poblaciones debastadas por el terremoto están pasando por un tiempo de desesperación e intranquilidad al sentirse sólos y nuestro deseo es poder llevarles ayuda,fortaleza espiritual y sobre todo compañia pastoral en este tiempo de tanta tristeza.
